Three ways to enjoy ALASKA GUIDED KAYAKING Adventures
Wilderness Sea Kayaking Adventure
Alaska’s number one wilderness kayaking experience.
Begin your adventure skimming across Sitka Sound in a motorized rigid hull inflatable “Seahawk” looking for whales, sea lions and other marine life enroute to a remote floating base camp. You’ll learn basic kayak techniques before venturing off into the calm scenic waters. An experienced guide shows kayakers the varied marine life as they glide silently around the bay. A warm snack awaits upon your return.
Glacier View Sea Kayaking
A sea lion’s view of Alaska.
After a thorough orientation, guests will glide through the waters of Auke Bay with an experienced guide. With views of spectacular Mendenhall Glacier they’ll learn the significance of places such as Smugglers Cove, the history of the surrounding area, and help identify local flora and fauna. Guests may spot porpoises, seals, sea lions, eagles or even whales. A light snack is also included.
Mendenhall Lake Kayaking Adventure
An iceberg studded journey to the base of the grand glacier!
Be among the select few, under a limited USFS permit, to kayak near the face of the majestic Mendenhall Glacier. Your guide will teach you kayaking techniques, then board the two-person kayaks, with either a new friend or traveling companion. Journey across Mendenhall Lake in your stable kayak, navigating the iceberg studded pristine water that is truly one of the jewels of the Tongass National Forest.
