RV & CRUISE / RV RENTAL POSITIONS:

The following positions are associated with our Cruise & RV Packages. Positions available in Anchorage, Skagway, Seattle. Anchorage positions are full-time; Skagway and Seattle positions are part-time only.

Stocker: Restock, inventory and clean the interior of the RV.
Service Rep: Meet and greet incoming and outgoing clients, orient and familiarize them with the use of the RV.
Lot attendant: Wash and detail R.V.’s, general R.V. upkeep and maintenance tasks.
Housekeeping Supervisor: Supervise stripping, stocking and cleaning of RV’s.

RV PARK POSITIONS:

The following positions are associated with Anchorage RV Park:

Customer Service Rep: Check in guests and assign camp sites, log new reservations, assist with daily sales of gifts, sundries and local area tours.

Groundskeeper: General maintenance and upkeep of R.V. park premises, dispense propane, police grounds, and misc. janitorial duties.

TOUR & ATTRACTION POSITIONS:

Dock Operations Representative – Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway
The Dock/Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact, and first impression, for our partnered cruise line representatives and for the guests of Alaska Travel Adventures. The daily experience will include directing and assisting guests in boarding transportation as they disembark their cruise ships. In downtown Juneau, you gather and count guests, collect tickets, communicate with logistics and cruise line representatives, and perform the settlement process at the end of the day. As part of the front office team you will be a main point of contact providing professional customer service, inventory management, transportation coordination and operational efficiency in a fast-paced business environment.  Administrative duties include processing financial transactions & documents, data entry and follow up on company directives.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately managing updates and changes to tour counts in work-flow app
  • Professional and timely response to phone & email communications
  • Accurately communicating updates and important information to drivers and other operational team members
  • Utilize multiple form of communication, including radio communication
  • Troubleshooting customer service issues in a calm & professional manner

Dock Operations Supervisor – Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway
As Dock Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for customer service, inventory management, transportation coordination and the overall operational efficiency of the dock office. Administrative duties include staff scheduling, processing financial documents, data entry, and follow up on company directives. Professional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure, computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel are required. Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing the duties of a Customer Service Representative (see The Dock/Customer Service Representative job description).
  • Managing tour inventory and guest service issues with cruise line Shore Excursion Managers
  • Responsible for employee productivity and resolving, communicating, and troubleshooting customers service issues

Field Operations Supervisor – Juneau, Ketchikan
As Field Operations Supervisor you will be responsible for customer service, tour quality, staff training, equipment management and the overall efficiency of tour operations. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. The Field Operations Supervisor is a working manager who frequently performs as a Lead Guide.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating and supervising daily tour logistics and operations

Sea Kayak Guide – Juneau
As a Sea Kayak Guide, you will learn the necessary skills to lead guests on a kayak tour in Fritz Cove and adapt to the ever-changing conditions of the Alaskan temperate rainforest. The daily experience will include gear maintenance daily set-up duties. Greet and gear guests to prepare for the best possible guest experience on the water. On the water you will explore the diverse environment and wildlife that Juneau has to offer.

River Guide – Juneau
As a river guide you will lead guests to view the Mendenhall Glacier; before dropping into approximately 5 miles of the glacial Mendenhall River (including a one-mile section of class II whitewater). While floating the down the river you will share the robust history of Juneau, as well as our ever-changing landscape and uniqueness of a glacial river.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and facilities
  • Learning the information necessary to deliver an entertaining and informed narrative during the tour including flora, fauna, and natural history of the area

Mendenhall Lake Canoe & Kayak Guide – Juneau
As a Canoe and Kayak Guide you will lead guests across Mendenhall Lake to the infamous Mendenhall Glacier that is a representative of the formation of Southeast Alaskan landscape. You will witness a snapshot of the World’s longest migration pattern, as well as the towering power of the 278 ft. Nugget Falls.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing pre-trip safety and skills briefing for the guests & operation of a safe tour
  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and facilities
  • Sanitary food service during the snack portion of the tour

Mountain Bike Guide – Ketchikan
As a Mountain Bike Guide, you will lead guests on an off-road biking and hiking tour. You will be trained on the safe delivery of a mountain bike experience. Mountain biking is a physically demanding job. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. A current CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Pre & Post trip bike inspections
  • Providing pre-trip safety and skills briefing for the guests & operation of a safe tour

Sea Kayak Guide – Sitka
As a Sea Kayak Guide, you will lead clients on a kayak tour on the Pacific Ocean. You may also serve as a deckhand on the vessel that transports clients. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. If also working as a deckhand, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.

Hiking Guide – Ketchikan
As a Hiking Guide you will lead clients on a nature hike in the Tongass National Forest. You may also serve as a deckhand on the vessel that transports clients to and from the hiking site. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. If also working as a deckhand, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.

Jeep & Canoe Guide – Ketchikan
As a Jeep/Canoe guide you will lead clients on a backcountry Jeep tour on private logging roads and in 19 passenger canoes across Lake Harriet Hunt. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Pre & Post trip vehicle inspections
  • Providing pre-trip safety and skills briefing for the guests & operation of a safe tour
  • Accurate completion of administrative paperwork

Harriet Hunt Canoe Guide – Ketchikan
As a Canoe Guide you will lead guests on trips on Lake Harriet Hunt and in Totem Bight Historic State Park. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.

USCG Licensed Captain – Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau
You shall perform all duties associated with the position of USCG Licensed Captain and the operation of company vessels. You will supervise deckhands. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification, USCG License, FCC Radio Operators License, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate completion of administrative paperwork, vessel & maintenance logs

Whale Watching Deckhand/Naturalist – Juneau
As a deckhand you will assist customers in a friendly, professional manner as they board and disembark the vessel, secure and release the vessel from the dock, participate in mandatory safety drills and maintain an emergency station billet. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Daily cleaning and maintenance of all equipment & sanitary food/beverage service

Retail Associate/Photographer – Juneau
As a photographer your primary responsibility is to capture high quality digital photos of guests rafting or sea kayaking and successfully sell those photos to the guests at the end of their trip. You should be responsible, organized, a talented salesperson and able to work independently. You will receive training in river rescue and be able to assist raft guides if needed. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. You may also assist as a shuttle driver.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting guides and outfitting guests at the put in and take out and organizing equipment
  • Capturing high quality photographs of guests during their river trip
  • Downloading, printing and selling photos to guests
  • Processing credit card & cash sales, making deposits and maintaining accurate financial records of those transactions
  • Daily set up, ongoing resupply, break down, storage and cleaning of retail areas

Transportation Team Manager – Juneau, Ketchikan
As the Manager of the transportation team, you are the leader of a team working closely with our Customer Service Representative and Front Desk teams to ensure smooth operations and providing safe & entertaining tour transfers for our guests. You are responsible for ensuring the vehicle fleet is well maintained and drivers and vehicles are compliant with DMV/DOT regulations.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting & leading a team of 25 commercial drivers
  • Pre-season & ongoing drive team training regarding proper protocols for guest transfers from cruise dock to/from tour locations
  • Daily scheduling of the drive team
  • Maintaining accurate records of employees and vehicle fleet

CDL Driver/Guide – Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway
As a CDL driver guide you will be responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner. Driver guides are responsible for maintaining regular communication with the front office dispatch and tour supervisors in the field. A class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement and no airbrake restrictions, current DOT Physical Card, clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate completion of Pre & Post trip vehicle inspections (DVIR)
  • Troubleshoot customer service issues in a calm & professional manner
  • Daily cleaning and minor maintenance of all equipment and facilities keeping them clean, orderly and in good repair
  • Obeying all traffic laws and ensure vehicles have all required safety equipment

Gold Panning Guide/Driver – Juneau
As a Gold Panning Guide/Driver you will take guests on a short city tour while providing an entertaining narrative on the history of gold mining in Juneau. Once you arrive at the gold panning site you will instruct guests on methods of gold panning and assist as they try their luck at panning. You will need to provide your own costume that should be apparel consistent with gold prospectors in the late 1890’s. You are responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner. A class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement, current DOT Physical Card, clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Accurate completion of Pre & Post trip vehicle inspections (DVIR)
  • Troubleshoot customer service issues in a calm & professional manner

Klondike Custom Hummer Guide/Driver – Skagway
As a Klondike Custom Hummer Guide/Driver you will take guests on a 4- or 8-hour tour of Skagway and local attractions in an H-2 Hummer while providing an entertaining narrative on the history of Skagway. You are responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner. A Chauffer’s License, clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot customer service issues in a calm & professional manner

As the Restaurant Manager, you are the leader responsible for ensuring the team delivers a safe, high quality Alaskan experience for our guests. You will directly supervise food preparation, service & quality control. Prior leadership experience in the food service industry including managing & training an entry level work force, analytical, communication and conflict resolution skills, ability to adhere to operational business plans, computer literacy, knowledge of basic policies and procedures of accounting, human resources, operations and sales are required. Current Food Protection Manager & Tap certificate required.

As the Assistant Manager, you are a leader responsible for ensuring the team delivers a safe, high quality Alaskan experience for our guests. You are responsible for all aspects of operations at the restaurant. You will directly supervise food preparation and service, staff training and quality control. Gift Shop Manager – Juneau, Skagway
As the Gift Shop Manager, you are responsible for the successful operation of a seasonal gift shop. You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, creating an inviting atmosphere, managing appropriate inventory practices and actively promoting sales to ensure the shop’s success.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining cleanliness in the shop and tasteful display of merchandise
  • Ensuring merchandise inventories are unpacked, coded and entered into the POS system
  • Maintaining up-to-date inventory & providing monthly and end of season inventory report
  • Keeping stockroom neat and organized for ease in locating merchandise

Cast Manager: Liarsville Klondike Trail Camp – Skagway
As the Cast Manager, you are responsible for leading a team of performers & musicians using improv, comedy & music to entertain guests. This outdoor venue includes re-creation of the camp that existed on the property during the late 1890’s Klondike Gold Rush, a theatrical style stage and gold panning area. You are responsible for creating an engaging, lively and entertaining atmosphere throughout the camp both “on stage” and “in the round”. Prior experience with stage management, producing, directing & acting required. You are a working manager also fulfilling a Performer role in the cast during performances.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervision, training & scheduling of actors and musicians
  • Directing rehearsals and theatrical pieces using established blocking and script
  • Creating scripted moments to occur in camp using the talents of this season’s cast to bring the show “off the stage” and create an engaging, entertaining atmosphere
  • Adhering to operating budgets and business plans
  • Accurate completion of administrative paperwork associated with the operations of the camp
  • Sanitary food service during camp snack/meal, managing inventory of food, beverage & service items needed in camp

Performer: Liarsville Klondike Trail Camp – Skagway
As a Performer, you will use improv, comedy & music to bring to life re-creation of the Klondike Gold Rush trail camp that existed on the Liarsville property during the late1890’s. You will play the role of a gold rush “madam” or eager “prospector” in a vaudeville-style show. Performers are responsible for creating an engaging, lively and entertaining atmosphere for guests as they enjoy 3 distinct experiences at this outdoor venue; the Trail Camp, the Hippodrome Theatre & the Gold Panning Field. Outgoing, entertaining personality, prior acting experience and excellent communication skills required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing, singing & engaging with individual as well as groups of guests
  • Participating in rehearsals and theatrical pieces using established scripts
  • Creating scripted moments to occur in camp using the talents of this season’s cast to bring the show “off the stage” and create an engaging, entertaining atmosphere

Musician/Singer – Juneau
As a musician and singer in Juneau, you will entertain guests at the Gold Creek Salmon bake during lunch and dinner service helping create a fun-filled family atmosphere. Prior experience and the ability to play at least a 45-minute family friendly set required.

Musician/Singer – Skagway
As a musician and singer in Skagway, you will entertain guests during meal service at the Liarsville Salmon Bake and provide background music during various Liarsville Klondike Gold Rush trail camp stage productions. Prior experience and the ability to play at least a 45-minute family friendly set required.

Food Service Positions:

Grill Cook – Skagway, Juneau
As grill cook, you are responsible for filleting, portioning & grilling salmon over an open alder wood fire and serving to customers. You are responsible for maintaining DEC compliant food quality, maintaining the cooking fire during meal service, greeting customers, establishing a welcome atmosphere and ensuring facilities & equipment are cleaned & maintained daily to a high standard.

Prep Cook – Skagway, Juneau
As prep cook you are responsible for splitting firewood for grill and campfire, maintaining the cooking fire during meal service, loading grills with fish, assisting the grill cook with serving customers, establishing a welcoming atmosphere, preparing salads and side dishes, washing dishes, replenishing buffet line during meal service, clearing tables and ensuring facilities & equipment are cleaned & maintained daily to a high standard.

Bartender – Skagway, Juneau
As Bartender you are responsible for serving wine & beer, distributing food plates, balancing cash drawer, establishing a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring facilities & equipment are cleaned & maintained daily to a high standard.

Giftshop Cashier – Skagway, Juneau
As Giftshop Cashier, you are responsible for the successful operation of a seasonal gift shop.
