Your driver/guide will entertain you with interesting stories and facts about Juneau on your way to Auke Bay where your experienced whale watching Captain and knowledgeable Naturalist will welcome you aboard our state of the art 48-passenger jet boat, custom designed for Juneau whale watching with large windows in the comfortable, heated interior and an outside viewing deck. Provided binoculars may enhance your panoramic view of whales and other marine mammals like sea lions, seals and porpoises. Weather permitting, you may also catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mendenhall Glacier. Whale sightings are guaranteed!

The Experience

Join us on an unforgettable whale watching adventure in the pristine waters of Juneau, Alaska. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, you’ll search for humpback and orca whales, along with a variety of other wildlife.

Board the Jet Boat

Your journey begins with a narrated transfer from the pier to Auke Bay, where your captain and onboard naturalist will welcome you aboard a state-of-the-art, 48-passenger jet boat. Designed specifically for whale watching, the boat features large windows and an outdoor viewing deck for optimal wildlife viewing. On clear days, you’ll even catch a stunning view of Mendenhall Glacier as you depart the dock.

Guaranteed Whale Sightings

Juneau is home to a thriving humpback whale population, with around 65 whales returning each season to feed in its nutrient-rich waters. Your captain is an expert at locating them, and whale sightings are guaranteed—if you don’t spot a whale, you’ll receive a $100 refund ($50 for children).

Wildlife All Around

Your captain will announce when whales are spotted, but you’ll likely hear the excited gasps from fellow passengers first! Watch in awe as a humpback breaches or a pod of orcas glides through the water. You may also see Steller sea lions, harbor seals, Dall’s porpoises, bald eagles, Sitka black-tailed deer, and even bears along the shoreline.

Views from Every Angle

Binoculars are available for your use onboard. Step out onto the open-air deck for an incredible panoramic view and photo opportunities, or relax inside the warm, comfortable cabin with oversized windows perfect for wildlife spotting.

Return to the Pier

At the end of your cruise, your boat will return to Auke Bay, where you’ll transfer back to the pier—filled with unforgettable memories and amazing photos of Alaska’s incredible marine life.
