Set Sail from Auke Bay

Your adventure begins in Auke Bay, a pristine marine habitat with breathtaking views of mountains and glaciers. Board a state-of-the-art, 48-passenger jet boat, designed for optimal whale watching, and set off in search of humpback and orca whales actively feeding in the nutrient-rich waters. On clear days, you’ll even catch a stunning view of Mendenhall Glacier as you depart the dock.

Guaranteed Whale Sightings

Juneau is home to a thriving humpback whale population, with around 65 whales returning each season. Your expert captain will let you know when a whale is spotted, but you’ll likely hear the excited gasps from fellow passengers first! Whale sightings are guaranteed, and if no whales are seen, you’ll receive a $100 refund ($50 for children).

Views & Wildlife

Enjoy panoramic views from the outdoor deck, or stay cozy inside the heated cabin with oversized windows. Binoculars are available for a closer look at whales, Steller sea lions, bald eagles, and other wildlife.

Gold Creek Salmon Bake

Following your cruise, you’ll head to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake, featured on Bravo’s Top Chef, where wild Alaska salmon grills over an open alder wood fire. This all-you-can-eat feast also includes Barbeque Ribs, Chilkoot baked beans, Tongass wild-rice pilaf, hot chowder, fresh salads, and homemade blueberry cake. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

Explore the Rainforest

After your meal, explore the scenic rainforest. Stroll along Salmon Creek, visit the Wagner Mine, and pan for gold just like the early prospectors. Roast marshmallows over a campfire, listen to live folk music, or snap a photo at the interactive gold rush mural.
