Rainforest Island Adventure

The Experience

Embark on a scenic coastal adventure through Alaska’s Tongass National Forest, combining a wildlife cruise with a guided rainforest hike on a remote island.

Coastal Wildlife Cruise

Your journey begins aboard a motorized rigid inflatable Seahawk, cruising along the stunning coastline of Clover Passage. Keep your camera ready—this area is teeming with marine wildlife. You may spot whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, porpoises, bald eagles, and migrating seabirds as you travel toward a secluded rainforest island.

Old-Growth Forest Walk

Upon arrival, an experienced Alaskan trail guide will lead you on a one-mile nature walk through an ancient old-growth forest. This well-maintained boardwalk trail winds through towering Western red and yellow cedars, which have long been essential to Alaska Native cultures for shelter, transportation, and spiritual traditions. Learn how the Sitka spruce played a role in early aviation, including the construction of Howard Hughes’ famous “Spruce Goose” and vintage fighter planes.

Secluded Beach & Campfire

As the trail opens to a secluded beach, take in the serene coastal views before gathering by the campfire to enjoy a delicious Alaskan-style snack. Spend some time exploring the area’s natural beauty before reboarding the Seahawk for a scenic return cruise to Knudson Cove.
